Dinner Menu Board

I finally finished my dinner menu board!  I made it with some of the scrap wood from the garage and the wonderful Dry Erase Vinyl I got from Pick Your Plum.

We never plan our meals out in advance.  When we go grocery shopping, I make a list, but usually just grab the same things every time and end up eating the same thing for dinner each week.  We just switch up the days.

The last couple of weeks, I made a list of our dinners and then made my grocery list from that, and it worked out wonderfully.  Except that when I got home in the evening, DH would say "I could have started dinner, but I didn't know what you were going to make".  My favorite was "Can you pick up Ethan and I will make dinner?" And when I got home, "What did you want to make for dinner?"  Hmm.

Hopefully this menu board will alleviate some of those questions.

I've also gotten some wonderful ideas from Pinterest (where else?!) that I would like to try also.  This is just the start of my new organized life!. Ha!

Cabinet Doors for Menu Board with Grocery List

Weekly menu on the left and running grocery list on the right.  Simple and useful!
This is an entire meal planning system!

I can only hope to be 1/3 as organized as this one day.
Dry erase door panels, a recipe book, a list of Mommy recipes and Daddy recipes (I made special note of that!) and a separate list of just the ingredients for each recipe for easy grocery list making.  Holy cow!
Menu Board and Shopping List

This one has all of the menu items listed on cards so you can just sort through them.  I like that!  I always forget about good recipes.

This one leaves nothing to question.  Perfect for DH.

I've got a lot of work to do with all of these wonderful ideas.  I want to incorporate a little of each.  I just have to find space in my kitchen to put them!

Just wanted to let you know your comments are set to "no reply", so I couldn't reply to your comment. If you ever want to change that feature in your profile, I have a quick tutorial on my right side bar.
